I guess its time for another post. Wednesday was not my day. I arrive in my CISCO class. Someone had taken my GOOD linux machine, formatted it, put on XP, and pissed in my face (Well, not really the last). I had a nice working linux machine, with a nice CounterStrike server running on it for the class (Due to our very restrictive firewall, all access from the outside is denied. Well, I had a "backup" emachine thats pretty much a clone of that machine that no one messes with (the previous machine does belong to the class, but, still, thats shitty). It doesnt work that well though, our first connection attempt to it failed. I guess Ill work on it tommorow.
Back in programming, Lamble seems to have forgotten the whole incident from yesterday I think. We had our "test". "This Test will take you today, tommorow, and maybe part of friday," said Lamble. Yea, I finished it in 35 mins. Me and Tim have decided to play some xmen or Simpsons on MAME tommorow in class.
Rest of the day goes on, and I make it home.
I have a haircut at 3. After getting home I walk out to the car and start it up and take off. Haircut gets done, I pay, go out to the car and stick my key in. Turn. RRrrrrrRRrrrRRrrrrrrr. Over and Over and Over. Its what my car likes to do in cold weather. I know how to fix the problem, but I didnt have what I needed (A screwdriver). I pop open the hood, unscrew the cover to my air intake, and take it off. I need a screwdriver to shove down in the choke opening to keep it open while I start the car, but since I didnt have one, I decided to just push it open and close a little bit to loosen it up, thinking that whould help. Nothing. About 20 mins later, I decided to just find somehting in the car to shove down in there. Luckly I had a computer power cable tucked away in the back seat, so I shove it down in the openning, and walk back to the car. Turn. FrMMMM. Yea, the car started perfectly. I took off back home.
Nothing else relly happened today, so now, without further adu..
Tuesday - Survival Instinct
The show starts out with a flashback of 7 and some of the unimatrix "partners" crashing on a planet. Not much explained here. Then, we see a bunch of people on Voyager because Captain Janeway has openned up the ship to anyone on this docking station to come aboard. Namomi (the child born on Voyager) comes over to 7 in Astrometrics and begs her to come eat with her. They eat for a while, but are interupted when this guy with a suitcase comes up to 7 and offers her something. He opens the suitcase, and 7 instatly steps back and is amazed. They are some implants of her when she was Borg. Then, you see that suitcase man and 2 other people talk and say that phase 1 is complete. After some studies of the implants, 7 decides to regenerate. An "alarm" on one of her implants goes off, and the 3 people make their way to her Regeneration alcove in Cargo Bay 2. They try to interface with her, saying she has the key to everything they need. 7 wakes up and takes them out. The crew discovers they are all former borg drones, but they have some type of odd mind link that links them together, and they wanna know how to break it. After interfacing with them, they all discover that when they crashed on the planet, their link to the borg was severed. They were part "individual", but 7 was not ready for this to happen. She orders them to allow to be re-assimilated. When she does this, she makes the link between their 3 minds. After the 3 break the link with her on Voyager, they try to take her out because it was her the whole time that caused it. After the doctor knocks them out, he tells 7 that they can either have the link broken, and live for about 1 month, or be reassimilated, and live a normal life as a drone. At first she decides the latter, but after a talk with Chakotay, she decides they need to be seperated and live a nice full life in 1 month.

Monday was a bummer, nothing much to do but sit on my ass. Sure, out of school, but how does that help if you dont have anything to do. Anyway, Baldur's Gate 2 has arrived, still havent installed it. Im playing thru BG1 now. Kinda cool, but really easy to die right off. I may have to make a fighter so that I can start with more HP.
Today was pretty nice. I had an assignment due in English today, but instead of spending time on it during my time off, I just printed out some lyrics in my CISCO class and the did the assignment during my class periods. I got in programming today, and I asked Scott about the project, like what all I had to do. He told me, and then he said he had a website for me to go to. Mrs Lamble, the teacher isnt doing anything, try to settle down the class, and scott gets up at comes over to my computer (Kinda long walk, and its right infront of the teacher). I tell him to jsut type it out on notepad for me, because I didnt want to wait for IE to load. As hes typing it Lamble flips out and tells scott to come back to his seat. He says sorry, but continues to type. Im just sitting back stunned. Then, she starts to get really serious and say -- "Come back to your seat now!" He begins his return, but on the way, the chick I sit next to tells me "What a Jerk!" kinda loud, but I dont think Lamble heard it/caught on to it. I turn back to my screen, waiting for her to begin the test "review", but nothing but silence. I turn back to her, and she says something along the line of "Im disappointed in you two." And then she begins the review. Now as class goes on, the rest of the class is ruthless and gives her no attention, yet, she does nothing about them. I dont know about you, but I feel like I was screwed. I believe josh said it best -- "The good kids get treated like shit, but the stupid asses are fine" Oh well. I dont think I like lamble that much anyway. She doesnt teach much, she just throws us a book and tells us to do the stuff -- NO teaching there.
School trugs along, and I turn in my "finished" english project, and then we are told to go down to the computer lab. No fun there. Counseluers bang us to death about colleges and junk. Being last period, I really didnt care. After school is a BPA meeting for information about the trip. Me, josh, and scott show up, but since we already got the info in programming (Mrs Walker, the BPA sponser, is next door). We talk to Walker about the rooms. She told us the me and josh were already in a room with 2 other guys, but we need scott with us as well. I think we convienced Walker to let the room be me, scott, josh, and billy lampton. Hardcore gaming is going to go down.
I get home. Nothing to do but watch tv and play games. I fire up BG1, and get to where I am now. Nothing else to talk about now, so im taking out to watch Smallville (A Really good Superman "prequel"). Btw, Im deciding to log the episodes of Star Trek: Voyager I watch.
Monday -- Cant remember name
Ensign Kim beams aboard an AI being. Turns out to be really cool, but they discover that their newfound friend is "Weapon of Mass Destruciton". They decided to pull out his Personality Matrix and insert it into a Hologram, like the doctor. During the procedure, the AI freaks out, and initiates its CountDown Sequence to destruct. The send an EM pulse through it, shutting down the countdown, but it also hs another effect. The doctor's program has been overwritten by the AI's Personality. He recovers his memories, and determines he must "arrive" at his target and destroy it. He accomplishes this by taking over voyager. To Be Continued...When I Return

Well, I have returned. It seems the template works. Anyways, on sunday, I wake up at about 10. Josh and Scott are supposed to come by and pick me up for some food, then D&D, Magic the Gathering, and XBox action. They are supposed to come by at about 11:45 to come get me. Well, 12:15 rolls around and no one is here. Damn, I thought, maybe something happened. I try to get online to talk to scott or josh, but AOL, like always was being jewish and not letting me on. I reboot, and as the machine it booting up, the phone rings, its scott. "Brian, Uhh, Josh got sick, so I cant find your house. Could you possibly be here by 1:00" "Sure" I told him. I got directions to his house, and off I went. Well, to make a long story short, I kinda got lost. I was looking for the wrong street to turn on, so I went all the way down another street (to anyone in that area, I took Browning all the way to Petersburg road). I get there, and one of Scott's friends is already there. After another 30 mins or so, watching Scott and this guy play MtG, and the doorbell rings. The other guy shows up. After 2 long games of 2 on 2 MtG, Scott and I decide to make my D&D character. Well, after 45 mins of looking for the dice, I come up with a "Tank Elven Wizard" Yea, thats right, Im taking hits and dishing them out at the same time. Well, with Scott the DM, we come up on a group of sleeping goblins, and after 20 mins of arguing, its decided that we jsut run up and start hacking and slashing. I stand at a distance and fire off my Magic Missles while the other 2 guys hack and slash the waking goblins. During the battle, I decided to run up and hit one of the goblins with my longsword. After I run up, I take 7 damage and bleed profucly (sp?). Shit. Well, what ussually takes a few mins took us about 45 mins to take out the goblins. Then, we come up on a Huge Zombie guy. We decide to take it out, but not before taking another casualty. We knock it down 55 damage and we each get about 300 xp. Im almost halfway to my next level. Sweetness. Well, its time for me to leave, and on the way home, I get lost again. I took Browning the wrong way and almost went back to petersburg. I relized it early enough and turned around and may my way home. After I get home, I eat and sleep for 2 hours. I wake, install Icewind Dale 2, burn it, and go to sleep watching some show on Discovery about some hauntings. Sunday was great.
I wake up Monday morning to discover, accroding to my dad, that there is a "6 and a half hour delay" for school. Yup, it snowed about 5 - 6 inchs and school was cancelled. I check the caller ID and discover the Library called. My game I put on hold has arrived. Kick ass. Time for some Baulders Gate 2. Oh, that reminds me, I borrowed Baulders Gate 1 from Scott, needa burn that. Well, ive done nothing so far today, so I guess I will leave it at that, may install Icewind Dale 1 and play it a bit. Before I go, anyone who happens to have Neverwinter Nights, could you copy it for me. I need it. Contact me and tell me I needa pick it up from you.
Well, after about 4 months of this thing just sitting here, its time to start posting. At the time of this writing, I just set up a templete done by Chris (BlackMod) and I havent tested it yet, so I will see how it works after I post this. Well, to recap the last few days, Saturday before going to work I decided I wanted to swap out the hard drive in my laptop to a blank one. Well, the problem with my laptop is that on startup, the BIOS must do a call to the Hard Drive to find some certain programs on it in a directory \DOS\. Well, I have a machine from IBM called the "PS/2 e". It appears to be an attempt of IBM to get rid of some extra laptop parts, because the whole thing seems to be mad of laptop parts. Infact, it has one ISA slot, and according to IBM, the orignal machine came with a ISA -> PCMCIA expansion, so that on the front, where there is an opening, you can insert some PCMCIA cards (Laptop expansion cards). Anyway, I devised a way to get the files on the "blank" hard drive so that I could use it. Well, it turns out something is messed up on the machine to cause the machine to not read floppies, so I couldnt bootup from DOS 6.22 (yes I have originals!) floppies. Well, the only other aternative was to put the laptop hard drive in another machine so I can use floopies, since the PS/2 e has its own floppy drive connector. Alright, so I pull out the spare compaq I have (533 k6-2) and gut it out. Alright, this may be hard to get, so ill put pictures up later, but since the laptop hdd has no connector for power (its built into the "IDE" connector), I decide this what I must do -- the cable on the ps/2 e for the hdd is kinda like a Y connector, one for the 40pin IDE, and then a "power connector" but its only for the power supply in the ps/2 e. I have to take the IDE connector and put it in the compaq, but also keep the ps/2 e going to supply power for the laptop hdd. Well, Im about to plug in the hdd, and I discover that the hdd connector to the motherboard has notches coming off of it (A way of keeping it from being plugged in) so I walk upstairs, grab a box cutter, and begin to cut away. About 20 mins later, the notches come off. I walk back downstairs, and hook up the hdd succesfully. I turn on the PS/2 e to begin suppling power. I power up the compaq, and it comes up. IT finds the hdd, but for some od reason, it detects it as a 274gig hdd (it should only be 200 meg). well, DOS install comes up and sees the hdd needs a partition. It sets it, reboots, and when to trys to format, it says it cant because "Invalid Media or Track 0 bad." Fuck I thought, It much be a bad hdd again. Well, I figured, I could try it in my old packard bell (120mhz Pentium) I pull it down, stick in the hdd, and fire it up. Well it seems to find it fine, and then it begins to install dos. It finished, I stick the special files on it, and then put the hdd in the laptop. Success, it fires right up. Oh shit, I thought, I need the DOS pcmcia drivers from the hdd. I try to swap the original hdd back into the laptop, and when I try to fire it up, I heard some power fizzles. Fuck me, I unplughed it and took the hdd out, Looking at the ide connector, I realized I plugged it in wrong, the empty spot on the connector was placed in the wrong place, and it popped out on of the pins on the hdd connector on the laptop hdd. Its ruined. There is still a way I can get the data, I can get the other laptop like this one, and take that hdd out and take the controller board out and put it back on the fucked on, and hopefully that would work. Anyway, I stick the new hdd in and figure I will just look for the drivers on the internet. I found them all, and now it works perfectly. I even got my pcmcia ethernet card working and I have Internet connection sharing working (after 3-4 hours talking to Chris). I was having problems at first, it would get an ip address from the DHCP responce, but I couldnt ping between the two machine. I figured it was something wrong with the Windows 3.11 TCP/IP driver. But after 3 hours, I decided to remove my win98's tcp/ip and reinstall it. Success. Anyway, I need to go shovel some snow, so when I return, Ill talk about sunday.
